Today, Amy and the girls went into town and also then to the pool. Rather than staying up late, I opted to stay home and get some work done. Sorry I don't have any exciting pictures of me working - just google for images of coffee and pasty white dudes sitting at a laptop and you can pretty much connect the dots :)
That night, the owner of the apartment in Vienna (Wolfgang) stopped by to visit - we had a great time, what a character.
He teaches structural engineering at one of the local colleges, so is on break right now. He showed up with his SWEET bike (the antithesis of what *we've* been riding lately) and we all just sat around and talked.
There were lots of cool stories, but one of the funniest ones was that he was actually a contestant on the German equivalent of "Who Wants to be a Millionaire?" (Die Millionenshow) He got through 11 or 12 stages, and the question that stumped him was "in which U.S. state is Mount Rushmore?" AHHHH! He ended up still winning a bunch of money, but we were all laughing that he knew lots of things ABOUT Mt. Rushmore (what year it was completed, how tall it was, the presidents on it, etc.) but the state escaped his memory :) Ha!
Anyway, again, our apartment is fantastic, and it was really great to make another friend in Vienna.

If I were not named Rick, I would like to be named Wolfgang. Such a cool guy. |
